PROJECT
In this project the emphasis is about the identity of human beings represented through his face whitch is considered the bearer of the traits and characteristics that best define the personality and at the same time, unlike the others. However, when the multiple identities come together in a society personal values are summed to create a collective identity which itself could join another group that would form the sum of the two and so on expanding the overall volume that brings together all elements. As a result of this merger the initial differences between individuals identifying fade emerge as anonymous subjects within the collective. The project development follows the same construction formula; the groups absorb the main elements. For the work in question the main element, which is the portrait, is decomposed using the CMYK system, four channels are presented separately to reveal the secret of optical illusion that produces the mix of colors. Dissect the individual portrait for another face couple it is the method used to generate three-dimensional pieces from two-dimensional plain screenprinted acetates, grouped inventing the module that is multiplied to complete the shape of the final work. Meanwhile, the subject of reproducibility that opposes the unique work conceived as exclusive and unrepeatable object, with the serial that is able to reproduce until reaching an infinite number of copies. In the conceptual part of the project the subject is expressed by the contradiction, the multiple identical copies are combined conceiving other types of unique pieces. The aim is to present an installation that relates to the place, which in this case is a prison, a place where is formed a new group, people from different places and occupations, each of them has a personal character and features that differentiate it from the others similarly depicted in each piece of the installation. The transformation of the physical features, through the merger of faces, metaphorically refers to the changes, the transformation in the personality of the individual in the new collective, in this case the prisoner adopts a new personality, different from what had when he was released.
