Sakiko Nakahara
Sakiko Nakahara is a Japanese artist currently based in Magdeburg, Germany. She studied art at the Osaka University of Arts in Japan. Her major were traditional Japanese wood-cut-printing techniques and she minored in copper, silk-screen and lithograph printing techniques.
Among her artworks are wood-cut prints and drawings. There is a reoccurring theme of dinosaurs and animals placed in a natural and sometimes dreamy environment. The pictures radiate a funny and friendly atmosphere.
During working in Tokyo, Japan she has learned how to treat leather and created unique leather products such as bags. Using her skills in wood-cut-printing she developed a way to print on leather with natural pigments deriving from kaki or red wine.
